The African Journal of Thoracic and Critical Care Medicine, previously the South African Respiratory Journal, is the official journal of the South African Thoracic Society. The journal accepts submissions relating to both clinical and basic research in the Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery and Critical Care fields and state-of-the-art reviews on any topic related to the scope of the journal.

The African Journal of Thoracic and Critical Care Medicine is now SA DoHET-accredited, and indexed with NCBI databases including PubMed Central (and available on PubMed), and Scopus.
